  • Spring Garden Fair

    April 26 - 27, 2025

    @ The Exchange Place, Kingsport, TN

    Join us for the 39th annual Spring Garden Fair. The oldest garden fair in the region and a favorite among gardeners, the Fair features thousands of plants for sale – perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs – with an emphasis on herbs, natives and heirlooms, along with garden related arts and crafts. Visitors will see heritage breeds of animals and spring activities on a mid-19th century farm, as volunteers shear the sheep, spin and weave the wool, make butter, and prepare the garden. Children’s activities abound as volunteers help children create garden crafts and learn gardening skills. Traditional music and foods add to the experience.

  • Iris Festival

    The Greene County Partnership’s annual Iris Festival was created in 1994 and has become the community’s major festival of the year, featuring arts, crafts, merchandise, food, and entertainment from across the region. The 2025 Iris Festival is presented by the Greene County Partnership and will be held in Downtown Greeneville, Tennessee

  • Rhododendron Festival

    June 21 - 22, 2025

    @ Roan Mtn State Park, Roan Mountain, TN

    June 1947 saw the first of the Rhododendron Festivals, conceived and carried out by the Roan Mountain Citizens Club as a two-day celebration to memorialize and perpetuate the most gorgeous display of natural beauty on the North American continent. This festival has continued uninterrupted for over sixty years.

    The festival is held in Roan Mountain State Park, located at the foot of Roan Mountain and features handmade crafts, food, and a variety of traditional music, plus an array of old-time folkway demonstrations.

  • Hungry Mother Festival

    July 18 - 20, 2025

    @ Hungry Mother State Park, Marion, VA

    The annual Hungry Mother Festival is the longest running festival held in a Virginia State Park.

    This festival is sponsored by the Art League of Marion, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of arts in Smyth County, Virginia. Proceeds from the festival fund a variety of cultural activities including art scholarships, a county-wide art show for high school students and Creative Assistance grants for teachers and students. The Hungry Mother Festival includes juried arts and crafts, live music, and your favorite festival foods. All set in beautiful Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia.

    Sept 27 - 28, 2025

    The farmstead bustles with activity as Exchange Place celebrates pioneer arts and crafts and the harvest season with its 53rd Fall Folk Arts Festival. The event features artisans demonstrating and selling a wide array of traditional folk arts, along with vendors selling autumn plants and seasonal crafts. The Festival also offers old-time music, food, and children’s activities, as well as demonstrations of fall activities on a 19th century farm, such as sorghum making, gourd crafting, blacksmithing, and open hearth cooking.

    Exchange Place ushers in the holiday season with Christmas in the Country. Fresh greenery, handcrafted wreaths and roping, unique folk arts and handcrafts, traditional holiday foods will be for sale and many unique demonstrations for all ages to enjoy. The Yule Log ceremony at the end of the festival offers a chance to participate in an age-old Christmas tradition, sing carols, sip wassail, and encourage luck for the New Year.
